Which links you can send
Supported platforms and URL formats, and the one thing that only works for YouTube.
The video field accepts a URL from any supported source. The platform is detected from the link, so there is nothing to configure and no per-platform endpoint to choose.
Supported sources
- YouTube - watch URLs, youtu.be short links, /shorts/ URLs, or a bare 11-character video ID
- TikTok - post URLs and vm.tiktok.com short links
- Instagram - Reels, feed videos and IGTV
- Podcasts - a Spotify or Apple Podcasts episode URL, or an RSS feed, resolved to that episode's audio
- Direct media - a public URL ending in mp4, mp3, wav and similar
Listing is YouTube only
Channel, playlist and keyword-search listing work for YouTube only. For every other platform the unit is a single video, so build around URLs you already have rather than expecting discovery from the API.
Podcast links
Spotify and Apple do not host podcast audio; both read the publisher's RSS feed. We resolve the link to that feed and the episode's own file. A show that is exclusive to one platform has no public feed, so it cannot be resolved and returns a clear error.
The supported source list changes as platforms are added; the TranscriptFetch homepage always shows what is live today.
