One unit, the credit, charged only on success. What each request costs, how audio is billed, what the plans include, and how top-ups and rollover work.
One unit: the credit
Credits are charged only when a request succeeds, so the price of a call is the price of an answer.

Billed by audio duration, only once the transcript is delivered: a job that fails half-way costs nothing.

- Renewal: credits refill each renewal. Annual billing charges ten months for twelve and grants the credits monthly.
- Rollover: unused plan credits carry over until the balance reaches twice the monthly allowance. On Pro, spend 3,000 of 7,500 and you renew with 12,000; leave that untouched and the next renewal stops at 15,000.
- Free tier: the free tier does not roll over; it resets to 50 each month.
- Upgrade: charges the full new-plan price and starts a fresh billing period, with no time-based proration or refund of the old period. The full new monthly allowance is added to your unused credits, with no cap on that grant. Basic to monthly Pro costs $15 and adds 7,500 credits.
- Downgrade: Downgrades and switches to a shorter billing interval take effect at the next renewal.
- Credits are never removed: a balance above the new plan's cap is kept; it just gains nothing at renewal until it falls below the cap. Top-up credits are untouched.
The billing portal shows the charge and renewal date before you confirm.
Top-ups
At your plan's per-1,000 rate, without changing the plan. Top-up credits never expire and are spent after plan credits. The card fee is mostly fixed, so the smallest bundle grows with the plan to keep one purchase at $5 or more:

Buy any number of bundles on the dashboard's Plans page. A lapsed subscription (a failed renewal) cannot top up until the payment method is fixed.
Running out, and your balance
- No overage billing: at zero, requests return
402 insufficient_creditsand nothing is charged. Top up or upgrade; accounts without a plan get 50 free credits back each month. - Your balance:
GET /api/v2/mereturns it, free. The MCP server'sget_creditstool gives the same figure. - Your spend: the dashboard shows it per day and per key.
